Personal Capital is a financial tracking tool that allows you to input all of your accounts in one spot. It is one of the main ways that I track my investments. Personally, I primarily use the site for retirement accounts and taxable brokerage accounts. What I love, is that the site updates quickly and gives me a good picture of how my investments are doing.
There’s a feature where you can input your retirement goals and the site will give you a “checkup” to see how your investments are performing relative to your goals. It’s a nice data visualization to help you eyeball how you’re doing.
If you want a good snapshot of your net worth, you can also input all of your financials and use their net worth tracker. When you add your assets and debts Personal Capital provides as very accurate picture. I love seeing my graphs rising over time and watching the numbers goes up is a great deterrent from overspending. As it turns out, seeing the numbers go down is an even better deterrent!
I highly recommend this as a tool in your arsenal for tracking your finances. Right now is a great time to sign up; Personal Capital is offering a $20 bonus when you download the app and link a financial account. Win-win.
